Overlook Terrace at Orient Heights is a mix of residential and community buildings ranging in height from two-to-five stories in a combination of sustainable townhouses and mid-rises, in a highly visible location just north of Boston. DMLA served as the site planner for this multi-phased 300+ unit development with ICON Architecture. The heart of this community is the central green, a lushly landscaped open space for gathering, socializing, and waiting for the kids to get off the school bus.

The Orient Heights development is a great Boston story. We brought lots of partners together, we got creative sourcing funding, and we harnessed the economic strength of our city to create powerful opportunities for working families. I congratulate everyone involved in the financing, design and construction.

Martin J. Walsh, former Mayor, City of Boston

DMLA prepared construction documents, specifications, and provided construction administration for the $51.2M completed phase one which consisted of 120 LEED Platinum homes in five buildings and substantially completed phase two, which consists of 88 units, anticipating LEED Gold.

This transformative project is slated to have a new community center and management office, a new public park, and significant connectivity improvements and enhancements that will improve circulation, safety, and access for vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists.

Strong neighborhoods are the building blocks of strong cities and towns, and this redevelopment project will further knit together the Orient Heights development with the rest of East Boston.
